My name is Jayden Kim, and I attend Sunny Hills High School. I started playing the clarinet in 5th grade at Robert C. Fisler Elementary School and was in the advanced/honors band. I started at CM Level 7 in 8th grade, and I am currently preparing for the advanced level (Level 10). I have always been passionate about music because my parents have exposed me to music throughout my life, and over time, I gained experience and my own knowledge about music. I joined Music Angels Hands in 8th grade, and I will never look back. For a long time, I worked as the Resource and Data Development vice president, and I had the best time managing the teaspectsl aspect of the club. When I got promoted to president, I promised to not only ensure the club's safety but to also help the students work more efficiently in balancing their extracurriculars with their academics. I want to help children globally through the power of music and help them realize how impactful music can really be. Every donation and tip helps contribute to changing the lives of children across the world. I hope to organize and facilitate many great projects while being president so that the members could have a great time while also helping the community.
I started playing the piano at 7 years old when I was in 2nd grade. I started with CM level 3 and managed to climb up to the advanced level for the CM test. I also participated in multiple piano competitions and in one of them I got first place. I also have experience in teaching students piano and music theory. I joined a music club in 7th grade and decided to leave that club to help create a new one in 9th grade. I became the first president of Music Angels Hands and set the groundwork so that the club would be able to advance further. As the president, I talked to many people and scouted locations so that we could host charity concerts in various locations around our community. I also started the free teaching program during my presidency. As of 2023, I decided to be in an advisor position so that I can help the club grow even further and be impactful to the community. Currently, in my advisor position, I decided to create a talent show for the club to host and a concert at the Curtis Theatre so that the club would have other unique ways to fundraise. I hope I can be helpful to the community and the club members in my current position as I was in my previous one.
My name is Chloe Shim and I am a Senior attending Sunny Hills High School. I am an Advisor of our club, who is in charge of mentoring members in all aspects that include leadership, outreach, and making Music Angels Hands a more closely knit family. I’ve been playing the piano since I was 7 years old, and am a Certificate of a Merit Level 10 (Advanced) State Honor recipient, 2nd place winner in the SATORI Summer Music Festival (2021, 2022), MTAC Theme Festival 2022 Silver medalist (2022), and Southern Youth Music Festival (Advanced Category) 3rd Place winner (2022). Throughout my years playing the piano, I have found that I love place pieces from Chopin because it requires bringing out a wide range of emotions. I have been a member of Music Angels Hands, a non-profit organization, since 2021, and was a Vice President and a Co-president the consecutive year. As a competitive pianist, I have had a phase where the rigor of playing the piano caused myself to lose passion, and build stress from viewing piano as an unconquerable challenge. However, through Music Angels Hands, I have come to realize how powerful music is, and how it can create happiness to many people in my community. By guiding children to interact and learn music through my experiences with playing the piano with “Journey of Self-Discovery with Classical Music” program, I hope to broaden their repertoire and make music feel like their close friend. I am honored to be able to create this new program in Music Angels Hands and am thankful to my parents who have taught me how to learn, feel loved, and be grateful.
My name is Jimin Park, and I am a sophomore attending Sunny Hills High School. I am currently the Treasuring Team vice president and am in charge of the club's data-based aspects. I've been playing piano since I was seven years old and am a Certificate of a Merit 10 (Advanced) State Honor Recipient, 3rd and 4th SYMF winner (2016), 1st place MACOC winner (2019), 1st place SYMF winner (2019-2021), 2nd place SYMF winner (2022), and 2nd place winner of the Southwestern Youth Music Festival (2022). Throughout many years of playing the piano, I favored many of the pieces created by Chopin. Many of Chopin's pieces require a lot of emotion, technique, and skill, which is why I enjoy playing many of his pieces. I joined Music Angels Hands in seventh grade and still do not regret it. By entering this club, I was able to experience so much and connect with new individuals. I've always loved and enjoyed music, and the opportunity to share my talent with others and help them warms my heart. In the previous year, I was the Strategy Enrichment's vice president and learned what it takes to be a leader. Engaging in a club like this demonstrates our commitment to social responsibility and how it can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. In addition, I learned that music can be a way to express ourselves. I hope to continue inspiring people with my music and being part of a good cause.
My name is Brandon Lim, and I attend Troy High School. I started playing the clarinet in 5th grade at Laguna Road Elementary School. I was in the Honors Band in Parks Junior High in 7th grade and also attended a year at the Orange County School of the Arts in 8th grade, where I played in the Symphonic Band in the Instrumental Music Conservatory. I started with CM level 4 and I am currently preparing for the advanced level (Level 10). Playing the clarinet has undoubtedly brought me joy and a sense of accomplishment. I joined the club in 7th grade and was appointed the position of vice president and I was in charge of the Promotion Outreach department. In my role as vice president I helped to push this club to more people and to bring awareness to our club. When I was promoted to co-president I believe that I now have an ability to have more children learn from our free teaching music program and to nurture them so that they can have a deeper understanding of music and can build valuable life skills.
My name is Ashley Kang and I am a freshman attending Sunny Hills High School. I have been playing the piano since I was 8 years old, and am a certificate of merit level 8 State and Branch Honor Recipient, 2nd place winner in the Satori Summer Music Festival (2020, 2022), and 4th place winner in the SYMF competition (2022). As well as that, I am the Vice President of the Promotion Outreach department and have been working hard to raise awareness of any events or fundraisers the club plans to host. I joined Music Angels Hands in 2020 as a 6th grader and the club has given me experiences and opportunities I never dreamed of achieving. Music Angels Hands is a very supportive organization that advocates the voices of all members and creates an environment where students learn to work together to express their love of music. All in all, I am proud to be a board member of the club and am excited for the years to come.
My name is Ashley Ahn and I am a sophomore attending Sunny Hills High School. I am currently the vice president of Resource and Data Development in Music Angels Hands, as well as the former vice president of the Accounting Team last year. The Video Team is in charge of doing technical work behind the scenes, including recording members’ performances and creating videos to help our club reach a wider audience. I started learning the piano when I was 6 years old from my parents. From an early age, my fascination for creating such unique sounds continued to grow and led me to take lessons from 4th grade onward. Now, I have completed the advanced course Certificate of Merit Level 9 and am on my way to complete Level 10. Over the past several years, I have also competed and placed in various local competitions, including 3rd in the Satori Summer Music Festival (2021), 4th in the Satori Summer Music Festival (2022), and as a silver medalist in the MTAC Theme Festival (2022). Joining Music Angels Hands in 7th grade was one of the biggest milestones in my music journey. The club allowed me to learn the value of generosity and selflessness, as well as allowed me to continue to pursue my passion in piano. Through our club’s events, such as concerts, we are able to raise money to give back to the community. As vice president, I hope I can utilize my position to strengthen the Music Angels Hands community and continue to practice charity and benevolence.
I am Alex Kang, a freshman attending Sunny Hills High School. I am the current Strategy Enrichment vice president and have helped with multiple different events. I joined Music Angels Hands in 2020 as a 5th grader and do not regret it! It offered me many chances to help both children and organizations with music. This club helps us bring out our talents in music to help children in need. Through different fundraising events, we earn money and donate them to organizations like CHOC Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
